Science City set to get 45 more exhibits

PATNA: Science experts from across the world participated in a meet to finalize exhibits for the proposed Science City at Patna. The tender for roping in firms for the building construction work has already been floated.“This was our second meeting at which about 45 exhibits were finalized... The three-day meet, which concluded on Thursday, was organized by the state department of science and technology (DST).The proposed Dr A P J Abdul Kalam Science City is slated to come up at a cost of Rs 397 crore on 20.48 acres of land at Rajendra Nagar. In the first such meeting held in May, 25 exhibits were selected for display at the proposed Science City,” DST director Atul Kumar Sinha said and added the topics covered during the latest meet included basic science, body and mind, learning space, planet sustainability and space and astronomy.These exhibits, Sinha said, will have the most advanced technology and will be specialized with digital, mechanical, electromechanical, hybrid digital mechanicals, audio and light immersion and 3-D features.The committee comprised of science experts from the Indian Space Research Organization, National Council of Science Museums, Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Indian Institute of Technology-Kanpur, University College of Science and Technology-Kolkata and Science City-Kolkata.
