Sanober team bags prize in model display contest

PATNA: Third year students of the department of microbiology put models of microbes, oral cavity and food items on display at a competition organized at Patna Women’s College on Wednesday.While Sanober team won the first prize, Pamela team grabbed the second prize. He also talked about the modules of NSE on stock trading, clearing, settlement and risk management.NSS prog: At least 100 students participated in an orientation programme organized by the National Service Scheme (NSS) wing of Magadh Mahila College on its campus on Wednesday.Addressing the students, principal Shashi Sharma highlighted the duties and responsibilities of NSS volunteers and urged them to understand the importance of selfless service. She also talked about the various activities conducted by the NSS wing of the college throughout the year.Seminar held: Pataliputra University’s pro-vice-chancellor Girish Kumar Choudhary threw light on the harmful effects of using plastic bags at a seminar on ‘Awareness against Use of Plastic Bags’ organized by B D College on its campus on Wednesday.“Plastic does not decompose and degrades the soil,” Choudhary said and urged students to plant saplings to save the earth.College principal Sanjay Kumar, teachers and students attended the seminar. Saman team stood third in the competition which was based on the theme ‘An Insight into the Diversity of the Microbial World’.History department head Sr Celine Crasta AC, zoology department’s assistant professor Joyita Das and physics department’s Rohit Singh judged the contest.Guest lecture: Commerce department of Patna Women’s College organized a guest lecture on ‘Role of National Stock Exchange (NSE) in Providing Skill Development Programme to College Students’ on Wednesday.NSE-Kolkata’s deputy manager Diptendra Roy Choudhury, who was the key speaker of the event, encouraged the students to get themselves enrolled in add-on courses to grab better job opportunities in the corporate world.
