Kanhaiya Kumar to seek support for CPIrsquos rally

PATNA: Former JNUSU president Kanhaiya Kumar , who is likely to contest the Lok Sabha election in 2019 from Begusarai constituency as the nominee of grand alliance, will do the mass mobilisation work for CPI for its state-level rally to be held here on October 25.“Kanhaiya will campaign for the rally from October 2 to 20,” state CPI secretary Satya Narayan Singh said, adding even Independent MLA from Gujarat Jignesh Mewani would also address meetings in the state.Singh said the party has also decided to invite “popular leaders” of other like-minded parties to address the rally. They include Congress president Rahul Gandhi, former Union minister Sharad Yadav, leader of opposition in state assembly Tejashwi Prasad Yadav and CPI (M) general secretaries Sitaram Yechury and Dipankar Bhattacharya.Talking to media persons on the sidelines of a meeting of the CPI state council, party’s national secretary and incharge for Bihar affairs K Naraina said the central executive of the party had not yet decided on Kanhaiya’s candidature for the 2019 parliamentary election.
