Yoga meditation photography contest to mark tourism festival

The United Nations World Tourism Organisation has stated in its message that World Tourism Day 2018 is a unique opportunity to raise awareness on the potential contribution of digital technologies to sustainable tourism development, while providing a platform for investment, partnerships and collaboration towards a more responsible and inclusive tourism sector. PATNA: Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation (BSTDC) has lined up an array of recreational events to celebrate ‘Paryatan Parv’ (tourism festival) from September 18 to 27. The events would mark the celebrations for World Tourism Day , which is on September 27.The events will be primarily held on September 18, 20, 22, 24 and 27 at Patna, Bodh Gaya and Nalanda respectively. The celebrations will start with a Yoga camp at Golghar on September 18 from 7 to 8 in the morning.

PATNA: Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation (BSTDC) has lined up an array of recreational events to celebrate ‘Paryatan Parv’ (tourism festival) from September 18 to 27. The events would mark the celebrations for World Tourism Day , which is on September 27.The events will be primarily held on September 18, 20, 22, 24 and 27 at Patna, Bodh Gaya and Nalanda respectively. The celebrations will start with a Yoga camp at Golghar on September 18 from 7 to 8 in the morning. Yoga mats would also be provided at the venue by an event organizer being roped in by the BSTDC. A similar hourlong Yoga camp would be held at the ruins of ancient Nalanda University, a UNESCO identified world heritage site, on September 20.Later, hourlong meditation camp would also be held at Buddha Smriti Park at Patna and Mahabodhi Mahavihara, the first world heritage site in Bihar, at Bodh Gaya on September 22 and 24 respectively.The celebrations will conclude with an official event at Adhiveshan Bhawan on September 27 to mark the World Tourism Day. The event would include distribution of prizes of a photography competition.Photography enthusiasts can submit entries on the theme of heritage, religious, forest and wildlife, people, art, festival and fair in Bihar. The deadline for submitting entries for the photography competition is September 17. “The entries submitted will be scrutinized by a five-member committee and the winners will be awarded on September 27,” said Harendra Prasad, assistant general manager at BSTDC.
