Cops to seek arrest warrant against Manju hubby

Subsequently, an FIR was registered on August 18 against Manju and Chandeshwar under the Arms Act. “We will now move court to procure warrant for his arrest,” Aditya told TOI over phone on Friday.Asked about action against Manju, the SP said: “We are not seeking arrest warrant against her at this point of time as she did not stay here quite often. Manju had resigned as minister on August 8 after Shiba Kumari Singh, wife of incarcerated Muzaffarpur child protection officer Ravi Kumar Raushan, alleged that Chandeshwar used to visit the home often. Begusarai SP said raids were being conducted for the past one week to nab Chandeshwar.

PATNA: A day after the Supreme Court asked the CBI to probe into the role of former social welfare minister Manju Verma and her husband in the Muzaffarpur children shelter home case, Begusarai police on Friday decided to move the local court for arrest warrant against Chandeshwar Verma in an Arms Act case.Begusarai SP Aditya Kumar said he had already ordered his arrest around 20 days ago, but Chandeshwar has been absconding.Manju had to resign as a minister from the Nitish Kumar government after reports revealed that her husband had talked many times over phone to Brajesh Thakur, the main accused in Muzaffarpur shelter home case. She has also replied to a few of our queries in this regard.”On August 24, the local courts had rejected the anticipatory bail petitions moved by Manju and Chandeshwar in the Arms Act case. Manju had resigned as minister on August 8 after Shiba Kumari Singh, wife of incarcerated Muzaffarpur child protection officer Ravi Kumar Raushan, alleged that Chandeshwar used to visit the home often.
