CM moves to transfer rly land to state for road

PATNA: Chief minister Nitish Kumar on Wednesday visited the Patna Ghat railway station and discussed the issue of transfer of Patna Ghat land with Danapur DRM Ranjan Prakash Thakur.State road construction minister Nand Kishore Yadav, principal secretary (urban development and housing) Amrit Lal Meena and Patna district magistrate Kumar Ravi were also present.According to the DRM, the railways has agreed in principle to hand over about 22 acres of Patna Ghat land, including 1.5km-long rail track from Patna Sahib to Patna Ghat, to the government in lieu of the old bus stand land opposite Hardinge Park near Patna Junction.Thakur told TOI the Patna Ghat land could be used for building an elevated roadway linking Patna Ghat to Digha Ghat.
