Anil Rai new MGCU proVC

MOTIHARI: Prof Anil Rai on Thursday took charge as pro-vice-chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi Central University (MGCU) at Motihari after his appointment was duly approved by the executive council of the university on Wednesday. He said the council was yet to get any paper from the Centre in this regard.Meanwhile, Agrawal returned to Motihari from Delhi and attended office on Thursday. He had earlier denied of resigning from his post.Meanwhile, MGCU Teachers’ Association president Prof Pramod Mina, in a press statement, welcomed the Union HRD ministry’s decision to take proper action against Agrawal. The university had no pro-VC since 2016.MGCU executive council member Karmatma Pandey said vice-chancellor Prof Arvind Agrawal submitted his resignation to the government amid allegation of falsifying his academic records and he had requested the HRD ministry to relieve him from his responsibility by November 15. He, however, did not respond to the phone calls made by this correspondent.
