PATNA: The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB)’s Matriculation examination will be held from February 21 to 28 and Intermediate examination from February 6 to 16 next year.Announcing this on Friday, BSEB chairman Anand Kishor said both the Class X and XII examinations would be held in two sittings — 9.30am to 12.45pm and 1.45pm to 5pm. Additional 15 minutes will be given to go through the question paper.The practicals for Class X and XII will be held at home centres from January 22 to 24 and January 15 to 25, respectively. The practicals for optional subjects of Class X examinees, including home science, music, dance and fine arts, will also be held from January 22 to 24.Altogether 13,00,492 students have submitted forms so far for the annual Class XII examination. The last date for the same is November 17.Likewise, 16,57,257 students have submitted forms so far for the annual Class X examination. The last date for the same is also November 17.Directives have been issued to all district magistrates to ensure fair examinations. “A committee each has been set up in every district to select examination centres based on the physical condition of the schools and their record in conducting examinations,” Kishor said and added the examination centres must have necessary infrastructure, including boundary wall, gates, rooms and furniture.He said a sum of Rs 220 crore was released in March this year to ensure availability of equipment and other infrastructure for conducting practical examinations in higher secondary and secondary schools.He also said model question papers for 20 subjects for Matriculation examination were uploaded to the BSEB’s website — http://biharboardonline.bihar.gov.in/ — on Friday and the same for four remaining subjects would be uploaded on Saturday.As for the format of question papers, Kishor recalled the pattern of questions was changed for Class X as well as XII examinations in 2018, and would remain the same in 2019. That is, the papers will contain 50% subjective-type and 50% objective-type questions.
