1,200 candidates clear test of Simultala school

Admit cards for the mains examination will be issued to the candidates on December 18.“The mains examination will be held in two shifts – from 10am to 12.30pm and 2pm to 4.30pm. The results of mains examination will be announced soon and interview to select the candidates will conclude by March next year. PATNA: Altogether 1,200 candidates, including 600 girls, have cleared the preliminary entrance examination for admissions to Class VI in Simultala Awasiya Vidyalaya-Jamui, the results of which were announced by the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) late on Thursday evening. The candidates, who have cleared the prelims, will appear for the mains entrance examination to be held on December 30. The school had hit the headlines after names of 30 of its students figured on the top 10 list of the BSEB Class X exam in 2015.

PATNA: Altogether 1,200 candidates, including 600 girls, have cleared the preliminary entrance examination for admissions to Class VI in Simultala Awasiya Vidyalaya-Jamui, the results of which were announced by the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) late on Thursday evening. BSEB chairman Anand Kishor said the results were uploaded to the board’s official website www.biharboard.online on Friday. The candidates, who have cleared the prelims, will appear for the mains entrance examination to be held on December 30. Admit cards for the mains examination will be issued to the candidates on December 18.“The mains examination will be held in two shifts – from 10am to 12.30pm and 2pm to 4.30pm. The first paper will carry 150 marks – 100 marks for subjective questions from mathematics and 50 marks for objective questions, mainly reasoning,” Kishor said.He added, “The second paper will also carry 150 marks – 40 marks each in English, Hindi and science and 30 marks in social science. The results of mains examination will be announced soon and interview to select the candidates will conclude by March next year. The classes for the 2019-20 academic session will begin from April 2019. Altogether 120 students, including 60 girls, will be admitted to Class VI at the school.”The BSEB chairman said the questions to be asked in the examination would be based on Class V syllabus set by the state education department. “There will be no negative marking in objective-type questions. Candidates will be barred from using whitener, eraser and blade on OMR sheet,” said Kishor.Altogether 11,239 students, including 2,772 girls, had appeared for the prelims at 41 examination centres across the state on December 3.Simultala Awasiya Vidyalaya, a residential school run by the state government, is modelled after the Netarhat Residential School in Jharkhand. The school had hit the headlines after names of 30 of its students figured on the top 10 list of the BSEB Class X exam in 2015.
