PATNA: At least 16 government departments will exhibit their tableaux with social messages in the Republic Day parade at Gandhi Maidan on January 26.The Bihar Renewable Energy Development Agency (BREDA) will highlight its efforts to change the energy consumption scenario in the state through its tableau. “We will create awareness about non-conventional sources of energy among people,” BREDA energy consultant Ranjan Pandey told this newspaper on Wednesday.The theme of the Women Development Corporation’s (WDC) tableau will be ‘Mukhyamantri Kanya Utthan Yojana’ and that of the tourism department will be development of ropeway in Rajgir. The art, culture and youth department will prepare a tableau on Rajgir sports academy while the state election commission will lay emphasis on ‘No Voter to be Left Behind’ through its tableau.The transport department will display a tableau for the first time during Republic Day celebrations. “Our tableau will throw light on different initiatives of the department, Mukhyamantri Gram Parivahan Yojana and road accidents.”The urban development and housing department’s tableau will showcase initiatives like plastic ban, street lights, door-to-door garbage collection and Chhath Puja preparations. Jeevika, on the other hand, will display a tableau on ‘Entrepreneurial Women: Better State’ and the information and public relations department will prepare a tableau on Sabhyata Dwar.Each department has been assigned a nodal officer to monitor the preparations.
