No entry sans IDcard uniform CBSE head

PATNA: Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) chairman Anita Karwal on Monday instructed school principals to ensure that students, who write their classes X and XII board exams this year, wear school uniforms. The exams will be conducted from 10.15am to 3pm.Barman asked the principals to follow the new guidelines of the CBSE regarding examination reforms and evaluation of answer copies. Classes X and XII examinations are scheduled to begin from February 21 and February 15, respectively.The CBSE head addressed school principals from across the country through videoconferencing from New Delhi and talked about the recent changes in the exam pattern on Monday. “It is compulsory for students to show their admit cards and I-cards at their respective centres. “Centre superintendents will collect the question papers from the strong room before the commencement of exams.

At least 120 principals from Bihar attended the meet at DAV Public School-BSEB Colony with the board’s regional officer (Bihar and Jharkhand), Jagdish Barman.Centre superintendents have been directed not to allow students to enter the exam venue if they fail to carry their identity cards. “It is compulsory for students to show their admit cards and I-cards at their respective centres. Without these two documents, they will not be allowed to enter. They also have to wear their school uniforms,” Barman said, adding only private students (those who flunked an exam last year or are reappearing) could wear casual clothes.Besides, students will not be allowed to enter the examination centres after 10am. The exams will be conducted from 10.15am to 3pm.Barman asked the principals to follow the new guidelines of the CBSE regarding examination reforms and evaluation of answer copies. “Centre superintendents will collect the question papers from the strong room before the commencement of exams. If the papers are leaked, they will be held responsible,” he said.Barman also asked the principals to ensure error-free evaluation of answer copies and totalling of marks.
