PATNA: With the announcement of Lok Sabha poll dates on Sunday, senior leaders of all political parties in Bihar have started gearing up for the biggest democratic festival in the country. The Lok Sabha election will be held in seven phases in Bihar, starting April 11. Some ruling party leaders trained their guns on the opposition while others expressed happiness and extended their greetings for the polls.Senior BJP leader and state deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi on Saturday rapped both the RJD and Congress over various issues. Without taking the name of RJD chief Lalu Prasad, Modi tweeted, “A party where selection of candidate or ticket distribution for general election is decided by a person who is convicted and is serving in jail does not need a parliamentary board. Their parliamentary board is just for namesake as there is no democracy in their party and such party will also be a threat to the democracy in the country.”Modi also attacked Lalu’s younger son and leader of opposition in the state assembly, Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, for amassing huge wealth at the age of 29 only. People will not spare them, SuMo said and also questioned their silence on terrorism and asking for proof of surgical strike by the Indian Air Force. But RJD national spokesperson Manoj Jha said the party did not take SuMo seriously. “He has no value in his own party and why will someone believe him instead of CBI. He should clear his stand on Srijan scam first,” Jha said and raised question on the election schedule announced. He said it had been planned in such a way that a political party with huge resources (BJP) benefits.Talking about the preparations for the election, Jha said RJD had started long back. Through media, he also appealed to the EC to keep a tab on those trying to create communal violence or using military’s combat for their electoral gains. “Our jawans are serving nation and they are not working for any political party,” he said.Bihar Congress in charge Shaktisinh Gohil said the party was all ready for the polls. “People of Bihar will definitely shower their blessings on us and we will have the mandate,” Gohil said.RLSP chief Upendra Kushwaha extended his greetings to the people for the upcoming election and called it a ‘Mahaparv’. “Let’s participate in this biggest festival with seniority and decide the future of the country,” tweeted Kushwaha.
