Shatrughan to announce poll decision after Holi

PATNA: Sitting Patna Sahib MP Shatrughan Sinha on Sunday said he will make his decision on the upcoming general election public after Holi. Patna Sahib is my first, second and last choice," Sinha told TOI over phone from New Delhi. Disgruntled BJP MP also repeated his stand on contesting from Patna Sahib.“Whatever be the situation, location will be the same. “As of now I am cool, calm and composed”, he replied when asked about the denial of ticket from BJP. He further said he was in such a situation where he had option to choose the constituencies.

However, he did not reveal as to on which party’s symbol will he be contesting this Lok Sabha election.NDA had on Sunday announced the division of constituencies among their three partners- BJP, JD (U) and LJP and Patna Sahib Seat went in BJP’s kitty. Sources in BJP said on the condition of anonymity that union minister Ravi Shankar Prasad was most probably going to contest from that seat. Names of BJP MP RK Sinha were also doing rounds for the same seat.When asked if he will leave BJP in such situation, Sinha replied, “Baith kar aarti thodi utarenge.” In the beginning of telephonic conversation he also read a couplet hinting his farewell from the BJP. “Mohabbat karne wale kam na honge… teri mehfil me lekin hum na honge.” Pained Sinha recalled the days of BJP during Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Nanaji Deshmukh and LK Advani era and said, “The party has been like my family, but few people inside the party, especially those at local level have hurt me.”When asked about the ticket from his constituency being given to others in the BJP, he replied, “They are good people and in democracy everyone has right to contest the election. Some of them in BJP are like my family members.” But he warned it was public verdict which mattered. “As of now I am cool, calm and composed”, he replied when asked about the denial of ticket from BJP. He further said he was in such a situation where he had option to choose the constituencies. He even took the names of West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee, UP CM Akhilesh Yadav, RJD supremo Lalu Prasad and Congress in this regard.
