MUZAFFARPUR: Deputy CM Sushil Kumar Modi on Tuesday said the NDA would get more seats in the state in the ensuing Lok Sabha election than what it got in 2014 polls.“People have faith in the leadership abilities and work of PM Narendra Modi and CM Nitish Kumar. It will be reflected in the election results,” the deputy CM told reporters before addressing a meeting of NDA workers here.“Nitish’s good governance in the state and a progressive and determined government at the Centre led by the PM will fetch us more seats this time,” he said.The deputy CM described the minimum guarantee scheme of Rs 72,000 per annum, announced by Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Monday, as an ‘election jumla’. “The announcement is nothing but a false promise to lure the voters. Rahul should know that voters have become wiser these days. They cannot be fooled with such promises,” the deputy CM said.“What happened to Indira Gandhi’s promise of eliminating poverty which she had made more than 50 years ago? The Congress ruled the country for nearly three decades in these 50 years, but failed to fulfil its promise. Rahul’s announcement in the run up to the election will not serve any purpose,” Modi said.The deputy CM added the Congress did nothing after one of the biggest terror attacks in the country in Mumbai. “Nearly 200 people were killed in the Mumbai terror attack, but the then Congress-led government at the Centre played the role of a mute spectator. It is the NDA government with Narendra Modi’s strong leadership that has given a befitting reply to Pakistan after the Pulwama terror attack,” he added.The senior BJP leader said the tussle between Grand Alliance constituents over seat-sharing would benefit the NDA. “We have announced our candidates for all 40 seats in the state. The GA, however, is still confused,” Modi said.
