Patna`s Mithapur bus stand is going to be completely closed from next month. The local administration is gradually shifting the buses from here to the new bus stop Patliputra Inter-State Bus Terminal at Bairia.

Buses of more than five districts including Gaya, Nawada are no longer going to the Mithapur bus stand. The administration says that no bus will go to Mithapur from July 15.

The new bus stand is many times better than Mithapur in terms of facilities. Here passengers will get different comfort and enjoyment, but there is also a problem with this bus stand. From here it will be very expensive to reach the main parts of Patna city.

Especially those people who have to catch and leave the train from Danapur and Patliputra Junction, their time and money will be wasted.

If there is a direct city bus service from the new bus stand to the major parts of Patna city including Danapur and Patliputra railway station, then there will be a relief.

The administration is making efforts for this, but it is not showing that seriousness yet.

The brunt of this is being borne by those who pick up and drop the bus from the new bus stand. People are not coming to Patna from Bhagalpur by paying more than that, auto drivers are asking for more fare from the new bus stand to Danapur station.

At present, prepaid booking service was duly started on Wednesday for various areas of the capital from the new bus stand. The service was inaugurated by the chief guest Raj Kumar Jha, General Secretary, Bihar Motor Road Transport Workers Federation.

He said that having a pre-paid service booth would bring great convenience to the commuters. Here the list of auto fares of every locality of the city has been pasted. Autos will be available 24 hours from here.
