Nitish Kumar approved the alignment of four new NHs, Patna will have direct contact with Kolkata, Delhi and Varanasi

The Chief Minister gave these instructions while reviewing the projects related to the National Highway on Wednesday. Road construction minister Nitin Naveen was also present in the review meeting.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has approved the alignment of four new national highways in the state. Along with this, the officials have been directed to send recommendations to the Center regarding the construction of seven new NHs.

The Chief Minister gave these instructions while reviewing the projects related to the National Highway on Wednesday. Road construction minister Nitin Naveen was also present in the review meeting.

During this, the Chief Minister said that the projects which have been prepared for the purpose of strengthening the road infrastructure are better.

With the approval of the new road, the distance from Patna to Kolkata, Delhi and Varanasi will be reduced and new connectivity will be available. The CM said that with the construction of new roads, people will get more ease in traveling at a faster speed.

Traveling by road to Delhi, Kolkata, Varanasi will also save people time as well as convenience. The Chief Minister said that along with the construction of new roads, the old roads should also be maintained. Work to increase accessible connectivity in cities.

In the presence of the CM, approval was given for the alignment of new four lane green field from south of Lakhisarai to Munger via Mokama to Manoharpur under Mokama-Munger four lane road. It will also include a 20 km long road from Sarmera to Manoharpur. The total length of this road will be 92 km.

With its completion, the availability of four-lane road from Buxar to Patna via Mokama-Munger to Bhagalpur-Mirza outpost will be ensured.

In the meeting, Road Construction Minister Nitin Naveen, Principal Secretaries to Chief Minister Deepak Kumar and Chanchal Kumar, Chief Secretary Tripurari Sharan, Development Commissioner Amir Subhani, Additional Chief Secretary of Road Construction Department Amrit Lal Meena, Secretary to Chief Minister Anupam Kumar, Officer on Special Duty to Chief Minister Gopal Singh and senior engineers of road construction department were present.

Under the construction of the third National Highway Buxar-Hydaria Fourlane, the construction work of Purvanchal Expressway from Lucknow to Hydaria in UP is in the final stage. In order to ensure connectivity of Buxar with Purvanchal Expressway, the alignment of four lane widening of 17 km road has been approved.

With its construction, additional connectivity of four to six lane road from Patna to Delhi will be ensured.

Under the Buxar-Varanasi Green Field Fourlane, the alignment of the new four-lane Buxar-Chausa-Varanasi was agreed in view of the smooth movement from Patna to Varanasi via Buxar. Its 29 km part falls in Bihar and 62 km part falls in UP. With its completion, the distance from Patna to Varanasi will be only 225 km.

It will be about 30 km less than the Patna-Mohaniya-Varanasi alignment. Along with this, the construction of Patna-Kolkata Expressway has been recommended for the purpose of getting direct and easy connectivity of Patna to Kolkata under Patna-Kolkata Expressway.
