PATNA: A man killed his wife and two daughters with an axe in Vaishali district on Wednesday. The police arrested the accused, who is said to be a drug addict. The incidet took place at Chandi village under Kajipur police station area. The deceased have been identified as Asha Devi (45), Kashish (12) and Nandani (10). The accused is Lal Babu Singh.Sadar SDPO Om Prakash said Lal Babu works as a driver. He is addicted to drugs. Because of this habit, he often had quarrels with his wife. It is suspected that following a quarrel over his addiction, he hacked his wife and daughters to death, he said.The vehicle owner for whom Lal Babu worked called him over the phone in the morning. When he did not respond to the calls, the owner called one of his neighbours. When the neighbour reached Lal Babus house, he saw the blood-soaked bodies of Asha and her two daughters lying on the bed. At the same time, Lal Babu was also lying in the courtyard of the house. The police team led by the Sadar SDPO reached the spot and arrested the accused. The bodies were sent for postmortem. "Lal Babu was lying unconscious on the ground. Sleeping pills were found from the spot. It seems he must have consumed the pills after committing the crime. He was sent to the hospital under police custody" the SDPO added.
