PATNA: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that the state will receive little to no rainfall until September 3. On Thursday, several cities across the state recorded soaring temperatures once again. These included Vaishali (38.1), Sheikhpura (37.4), Bhagalpur (37.1), Valmiki Nagar (37) and Bhojpur (37). The state received only 19.2mm of rainfall on Wednesday and no rainfall on Thursday. This pattern is set to continue throughout the next week. The Patna meteorological center director Ashish Kumar said the state is likely to witness subdued rainfall activity this week. "There may be isolated rainfall in few places on Friday and Saturday. There is a chance of scattered rainfall in the state from Sunday. We will also witness hot and humid conditions across the state until September 3," he said. The reason for the subdued rainfall activity is being attributed to the lack of a weather system in the region.
