PATNA: CM Nitish Kumar on Saturday said the opposition bloc INDIA allies completed their mutual talks on seat-sharing during the Mumbai meeting on Friday and all related issues would be sorted out by the end of this month. Nitish also said the opposition bloc would hold countrywide programmes on the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi on October 2 to express its solidarity with the ideals of Bapu. "We will march forward unitedly," he said on the sidelines of a state function organized on the birth anniversary of former Bihar CM Daroga Prasad Rai."There is no problem on the seat-sharing issues. Yesterday, we talked in detail with each other. Now, we will internally decide everything very soon and then inform the media. We will finalize everything by the end of this month," Nitish said. Asked whether he supports the concept of one nation, one election, the Bihar CM said, "We will talk on this topic when the Centre comes out with its proposal in Parliament. We will discuss all aspects of the simultaneous elections in the House... I have been expressing doubts for a long time that the Centre is making plans to advance the Lok Sabha elections. They may opt for early elections."The JD(U) leader, who played a leading role in bringing the opposition parties to one platform, also took a swipe at the Centres move to hold the Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha elections simultaneously. If they want to hold simultaneous elections, why did they not hold the decadal census? The census used to be held after every 10 years. But you (PM Narendra Modi) did not hold the census even in 2021. It should have been held in 2020, Nitish said and asked the Centre to explain as to why the decadal census was not held. Asked whether the INDIA bloc would raise the issue of caste census during the special session of Parliament, Nitish said, All matters will be raised. Let them first convene the special session. We will raise all issues at appropriate time. He also said the BJP-led government at the Centre was rattled by the unity among the opposition parties and planning to hold early Lok Sabha elections.
