PATNA: Indiscriminate firing in the dead of night left one person injured and created panic in the heart of the city in the wee hours on Sunday. The Naya Gaon incident under Pirbahore police station area around 3am was a fallout of a heated exchange of words between the accused jilted lover and a girls family members, police said. Twelve empty cartridges were recovered from the spot, police sources said.One Rohit Kumar (25) was shot at while the locals caught one of the miscreants, identified as identified as Guddu alias Sweety, and thrashed him. Both were admitted to PMCH for treatment. Three other associates of the accused were also arrested."Rohit was a mere spectator with other people. He received one bullet injury, but is out of danger," Pirbahore SHO Md Sabihul Haque said. He said the incident is related to a love affair. Guddu had some dispute with a girl of the same locality Saturday morning. He had heated argument with the girls family members. Guddu had threatened the family with dire consequences. Guddu came with his friends in the wee hours and fired several rounds in the air to scare the family. When the girls neighbours came out, the miscreants fled, but Guddu was caught. He was badly thrashed by the people. Later, the police admitted him to PMCH for treatment under custody, he said. The arrested persons were identified as Ajay Kumar (Saidpur), Abhishek Ranjan (Bahadurpur) and Aditya Kumar (Shahganj). They were sent to jail under Arms Act.
