Collegians create awareness about balanced, healthy diet

PATNA: The students of city-based J D Womens College on Monday launched an awareness programme during the national nutrition week celebrations for the women of the neighbouring slum areas. With the help of posters and conversation, they tried their best to create awareness among them about the importance of nutrition for a healthy life. Highlighting this years theme healthy diet going affordable for all they stressed upon the importance of eating a balanced diet that is rich in nutrients. A healthy diet is essential for good health and development, they said, adding that it can help prevent diseases, improve mood and energy levels, and boost the immune system.They had organized an exhibition of healthy diet containing nutritious fruit, cereals and vegetables. The nutritional benefits of various food items were nicely depicted through hand-made posters which was highly appreciated by the visitors. They advised the audience to prefer seasonal fruits and vegetables for remaining healthy and fit.College principal Meera Kumari appreciated the programme organized by the students. Head of college home science department, Kumkum Kumari guided the girls in organizing this programme successfully. College teachers Nidhi Sinha, Shobha singh, Sarita Srivastava and Mamta actively participated in the awareness programme.
