PATNA: As Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar has been repetitively asserting that the Centre might advance the Lok Sabha polls, his party JD(U) has expedited its preparations for the coming general elections in the state. As part of its preparations, JD(U) has invited all its district presidents to the state capital on September 11 and the block presidents on September 12. Sources in the JD(U) said the chief minister would interact with the partys district presidents and the block presidents on September 11 and 12, respectively, to take feedback about the ground realities in different parts of the state in the wake of the next Lok Sabha polls.Few weeks ago, our chief minister held separate interaction meetings with the partys Lok Sabha members, Rajya Sabha members, MLAs, MLCs and former legislators. As part of his ongoing interaction meetings, the CM now wants to interact with the partys district presidents and the block presidents. So we have invited them to Patna on September 11 and 12, respectively, JD(U) national secretary and MLC Rabindra Prasad Singh told TOI on Wednesday. To a question, Singh said he was not aware about the venue of the CMs interaction meeting with the partys district president and the block chiefs. The proposed interaction meeting will be held either at the CMs official residence or the JD(U) offices Karpoori Sabhagar, said another leader. JD(U) had won a total of 16 Lok Sabha seats in Bihar in the 2019 elections when it was part of the BJP-led NDA. Then, the BJP had won 17, out of total 40 Lok Sabha seats in the state. Another NDA ally – Ram Vilas Paswan-led erstwhile Lok Janshakti Party had won six seats. Thus, the NDA had won 39, out of total 40 seats in the state.
