Bihar CM Nitish Kumar to open new building of BTMC, lay stone for Dharamshala today

GAYA: CM Nitish Kumar will visit the twin towns of Gaya and Bodh Gaya on Friday when he is scheduled to inaugurate at least three structures, attend the stone-laying ceremony of Gaya Ji Dham Dharamshala and inspect the Pitripaksh mela preparations, besides offering prayers at Vishnupad temple and the world heritage Mahabodhi Mahavihara. According to the minute-to-minute programme made available to Gaya district administration, the CM is scheduled to arrive at airport by helicopter from Patna at 10.30am and return at 4pm.The CM, during his nearly five-and-a-half-hour stay, will inaugurate the new buildings of Bodh Gaya temple management committee and Bihar institute of public administration and rural development in Gaya, besides Mata Sita path near Gaya Ji dam, east of Vishnupad temple.He would also lay the foundation stone for the construction of 1,080-bed Gaya Ji Dham Dharamshala in the town, to be built in 1-km radius of the Vishnupad temple at a cost of Rs 120 crore.State tourism secretary Abhay Kumar Singh, accompanied by Bihar state tourism development corporation managing director Nand Kishore, tourism director Vinay Kumar Rai, general manager Abhijeet Kumar and other officials, conducted an inspection of the sites on Thursday.
