Town police recover looted drone, 3 held

  • | Friday | 15th March, 2024

Town police recovered a looted drone in just a few hours. This is the first episode in Palamu where a sophisticated drone was looted. Also, it is first of its kind when town police recovered it within hours of its loot.    The recovery of the drone is as spectacular as its loot. No criminal tries looting it as it has no market - black or white.    The team led by the SDPO Mani Bhushan Prasad and officer in charge town police station Deobrata Poddar credited the busting of the crime to the meticulous and precise directive and monitoring of the SP Palamu Reeshma Ramesan.    SDPO Mani Bhushan Prasad at his press briefing today said "The loot of the drone was bizarre. But it happened. The episode was brought to the notice of the SP Reeshma Ramesan."   The drone was looted on the intervening night of March 12/13 near the B N college in Daltonganj. Drone was recovered on March 14. Three people were held.    The drone was of a professional photographer Harender Kumar who was stripped of his drone and cell phone. He was covering a marriage ceremony and late night March 12 /13 he was robbed of his drone and cell phone at knife point.    The victim lodged the FIR on March 13. The FIR was against the unknown, unidentified.      The looted cell phone was in possession of one Aniket Tiwary of the three who had looted the drone. Tiwary was picked up and he spilled all the beans. Cell phone was recovered first, drone next.   On his leads town police nabbed two more Sanjeet Kr Ojha and Kavi Kumar. The looted drone was in possession of Ojha.    SDPO and OC declined to share the name of the person with whom Ojha had spent some hours saying the man is innocent and police are bound to protect the dignity and image of its innocent people having nothing to do with any offence.    A couple of mediapersons just pressed the SDPO Mani Bhushan Prasad to reveal the name of the person which the SDPO declined very firmly but politely.    OC Poddar was also in no mood to drag the name of the person who as he said is alien and aloof to what Ojha had done.    The three Tiwary, Ojha and Kavi have no criminal antecedence. They were remanded in judicial custody today. All three come from Daltonganj almost.    Police recovered the bike used in looting the drone and cell phone.
