World Kidney Day was celebrated with great pomp on Thursday in the premises of Arogyam Hospital, one of the best hospitals in the district.On this occasion, the chief physician of the hospital, the hospital administrator and many other employees jointly celebrated World Kidney Day by cutting a cake, along with which various types of things were told to make people aware.This event is organized every year in the hospital premises. The main objective of this program is to make people aware on World Kidney Day.To raise awareness about the importance of kidneys, for the first time in 2006, 66 countries came together to celebrate World Kidney Day.After which, within two years, this number of 66 countries increased to about 88. This is a joint initiative of WD, International Society of Nephrology (ESN) and International Federation of Kidney Foundation.The purpose of which was to increase awareness among people about kidney conditions.On the occasion, hospital director Harsh Ajmera said that the purpose of celebrating World Kidney Day is to increase awareness among people about kidney diseases.Kidney is one of the most important organs of the body.Every year about 2.5 lakh people in the country become victims of kidney related diseases.The function of the kidney is to remove waste materials present in the body, the presence of which can give rise to many diseases.In such a situation, this special day is celebrated with the aim of spreading awareness about kidney health among as many people as possible.
