IIM Ranchi celebrates 13th convocation ceremony

The Indian Institute of Management Ranchi proudly hosted its 13th Convocation Ceremony on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at its permanent campus located in Prabandhan Nagar, Nayasarai Road, Ranchi.   Harit Nagpal, Managing Director & CEO at Tata Play Ltd. graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and delivered the convocation address. The ceremony also had the esteemed presence of Praveen Shankar Pandya, Chairman, Board of Governors, IIM Ranchi,. Deepak Kumar Srivastava, Director, IIM Ranchi, Members of the Board of Governors, faculty, staff, and the graduating students of IIM Ranchi.   The auspicious ceremony commenced with the academic procession and invocation. Prof. Deepak Kumar Srivastava, Director, IIM Ranchi, extended a warm welcome to the esteemed guests, delivered the welcome address and presented a brief report about the institute highlighting its initiatives and achievements.   Prof. Srivastava emphasized on how IIM Ranchi achieved significant milestones, securing the 7th position according to Outlook ICARE ranking and, a notable 104th rank worldwide as the best international B-school according to CEOWORKD magazine. The institutes alignment with the National Education Policy 2020 and the introduction of relevant electives showcase its commitment to educational innovation.   He talked about accentuated efforts to enhance student support through initiatives like the MCM scholarships and fostering academic excellence. The international print edition of the IIM Ranchi Management Journal highlights the institutes global reach and scholarly contributions.   Initiatives like Mind Lab and Human Connect, including unique activities such as drum circles and community library at Ranchi airport, underscore the institutes focus on nurturing an inclusive learning environment. Moreover, Prof. Srivastava announced collaborations through Memorandums of Understanding with esteemed partners like Tata Steel and the National University of Study and Law to foster social impact and academic excellence.   He highlighted the exceptional placement report for the 2022-24 batch, showcasing lucrative career opportunities across sectors. He also praised the impressive SIP report for the 2023-25 batch, underscoring the institutes commitment to grooming future leaders. These tremendous results reaffirmed IIM Ranchis stature as a premier institution for professional excellence.           Shri Praveen Shankar Pandya, Chairman, Board of Governors, IIM Ranchi delivered an encouraging speech at the convocation ceremony, applauding the graduates and urging them to embrace the wealth of opportunities awaiting them. He emphasized Indias current growth trajectory and the institutions dedication to excellence, mainly through innovative programs and initiatives under the Directors leadership. With a nod to the significance of the alum network and emerging sectors like AI, he expressed hope for the future while acknowledging the importance of advancements in agriculture technology. The Chairman concluded with heartfelt wishes for the graduating class and the ongoing success of IIM Ranchi.      In his heartfelt speech Shri Harit Nagpal, Managing Director & CEO at Tata Play Ltd. emphasized the value of their degrees as blessings from diverse cultures and the importance of adaptability in overcoming hardships. Stressing the significance of investing in communities and embracing entrepreneurial opportunities post-MBA, the Chief Guest left a lasting impression on the graduates, inspiring them to navigate the future with resilience and innovation.   The ceremony concluded with the presentation of memento to the Chief Guest, followed by the National Anthem. The 13th Convocation Ceremony at IIM Ranchi was a momentous occasion, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the graduating students as they embark on their professional journeys.
