Three injured in blast at scrap shop

Three persons, including two boys both aged 15 years, were injured after an unidentified metal object exploded at a scrap shop at Aniyappur village near Vaiyampatti in the district on Friday. The shop owner Ramanathan who was also injured in the blast is undergoing treatment in a private hospital at Manapparai where the boys have also been admitted. The type of substance that exploded is being verified using the assistance of scientific assistants, said police sources. Police sources said the incident occurred in the evening at the shop. The Vaiyampatti police are investigating.
