Four die in bus-motorcycle collision near Viralimalai

Four persons on a motorcycle died after a omni bus rammed the vehicle on the Tiruchi - Madurai national highway in Viralimalai police station limits in the early hours on Monday. Police gave the names of the deceased as S. Vimalraj, 24, M. Arun Prasad, 23, N. Gunasekaran, 18, and N. Rajasekar, 21. The Viralimalai police are investigating. The bus was driven by S. Anand, 50, of Vellore district. The bodies of the four were taken to the Manapparai Government Hospital.

The four had finished their dinner in a hotel and were proceeding on a two-wheeler when the fatal accident occurred at around 12.10 a.m. Police sources said the four were crossing the highway on the motorcycle without a registration number when a Vellore-bound omni bus from Madurai rammed the two-wheeler at Lanjamedu causing the death of three on the spot. The other victim died on the way to the hospital. Police gave the names of the deceased as S. Vimalraj, 24, M. Arun Prasad, 23, N. Gunasekaran, 18, and N. Rajasekar, 21. The bodies of the four were taken to the Manapparai Government Hospital. The bus was driven by S. Anand, 50, of Vellore district. The Viralimalai police are investigating.
