Contests, sweet distribution mark Children’s Day in Trichy

Trichy: Excitement was in air as schools celebrated Children’s Day with a lot of vibrancy and enthusiasm, organising various competitions and cultural programmes here on Tuesday.Asking students to turn up in colourful dresses, Sri Sivananda Balalaya CBSE School, Trichy, conducted competitions to mark the birth anniversary of Jawaharlal Nehru. Students brought sweets from home and shared them among themselves as a sign of camaraderie.Mount Zion matriculation higher secondary school celebrated Children’s Day by learning the art of giving, in a company of students from THAI Foundation (Orphanage) Kudumiyanmalai. Parents also had a taste of the day as they accompanied their wards to schools and enjoyed various delicacies prepared by teachers as part of the event. Even as the students took part in various games, the teachers advised them to be generous throughout their life.Making the day memorable, students attended a series of competitions organised at RC Higher Secondary School, Kottapattu. Students from Panchayat Union Primary School, E Pudur, made a difference by sending greeting cards with their photographs on them to 5,000 students across 65 government schools.
