Trichy: A house in Kottaipattinam in Pudukkottai district was burgled by unidentified miscreants, who decamped with around 100 sovereigns of gold ornaments and cash on Tuesday evening. The incident came to light on Wednesday morning.The house belonged to Noordeen, 48, an organiser of sound systems for functions in Kottaipattinam. The incident took place on Tuesday evening when his wife and he were not at home.According to his complaint, his wife fell sick and he took her to a hospital in Pudukkottai on Tuesday morning and returned home past midnight. They found the front door broken. Noordeen checked inside his house and found that the jewelleries kept in the bureau were missing. He alleged that around 100 sovereigns and Rs 30,000 cash kept in the bureau were stolen.On information, Kottaipattinam police visited the spot with the fingerprint experts, who collected samples. A sniffer dog was also pressed into action. The police suspected that it could have been the work of people, who already kept track of Noordeen’s routine. The police registered a case.
