1000 police personnel deployed for kumbabhishekam

Elaborate security arrangements have been made with more than 1000 police personnel deployed to avoid any untoward incident during the occasion.The police said that they were expecting lakhs of people to throng the temple, where kumbabhishekam has been scheduled early in the morning. In the second phase – which is also the main phase – kumbabhishekam would be performed for Sri Jambukeswarar and Sri Akilandeswari shrines.In the first phase which was held on December 9, kumbabhishekam was held for all the sub-shrines of the temple. As many as 10 watch towers have been erected and public address systems have been installed at four streets.In the entrance of all the four temple towers, fire service vehicles would be stationed and within the temple, 16 fire and rescue services personnel would be on duty. Two deputy commissioners, additional deputy commissioner, seven assistant commissioners and 22 inspectors would be conducting monitoring and surveillance.The festival was planned as two parts, out of which the second phase is conducted on December 12.

Tamil Nadu governor Banwarilal Purohit would also be taking part in the festival.A total of 32 CCTV cameras have been installed at the important spots in and around the temple and two LED screens have been installed within the temple premises. As many as 10 watch towers have been erected and public address systems have been installed at four streets.In the entrance of all the four temple towers, fire service vehicles would be stationed and within the temple, 16 fire and rescue services personnel would be on duty. For parking facilities, there would be four spots including Kannimar Thoppu, Otha Street, near Nandru Tharum Vinayagar Temple and Karthikeyan Garden.A medical team would also be deputed at the spot and one 108 ambulance would be stationed there.In order to help with security measures, around 700 police from other parts of the state have been deployed. Two deputy commissioners, additional deputy commissioner, seven assistant commissioners and 22 inspectors would be conducting monitoring and surveillance.The festival was planned as two parts, out of which the second phase is conducted on December 12.
