Three killed as van hits autorickshaw

When they were returning home in the evening, a van rammed into the autorickshaw near Kuruchi Park at Pattukottai.Sathyaraj died on the spot while the other two succumbed to the injuries at the Government Medical College Hospital in Thanjavur durinin the wee hours on Tuesday. Thanjavur: Three including two women died on Tuesday after a van rammed into an autorickshaw near Thanjavur.According to police, the deceased have been identified as Fathima Beevi, 70, her daughter-in-law Mehrunisa, 37, a resident of Kasim Puthupettai in Pudukottai district, and auto driver Sathyaraj, 35. A resident of Vaduvur village in Tiruvarur district, Sathyaraj was staying at a rental house in Aavanam near Thiruchitrambalam in Thanjavur.Fathima and Meharunisha had hired Sathyaraj's auto on Monday to go to a hospital in Pattukottai.
