TRICHY: Expelled AMMK leader V P Kalairajan joined the DMK in the presence of party president M K Stalin in Trichy on Thursday.Welcoming Kalairajan to the party, Stalin hinted that several members of other parties might join the DMK soon.Kalairajan called on Stalin at a private hotel in Trichy in the morning and formally inducted himself into the party. Kalairajan was the South Chennai district secretary of the AMMK.“I realised that there is a threat to the development of Tamil people and Dravidian movements from the secular forces. My beloved leader Thalapathi (Stalin) is the right person to keep Dravidian movement intact and regain the lost rights of Tamils. I accept him as my leader and I am at his disposals. So I induct myself into the DMK,” said Kalairajan.Kalairajan maintained that he had not left the AMMK due to any disputes with party deputy general secretary TTV Dhinakaran. “I have no differences with him. I joined the DMK purely because I accepted Stalin as my leader,” he said.Stalin said people from other parties would join the DMK with the hope that only the party could bring about a change in the helm of affairs at the Centre and in the state. “We don’t consider anyone as a challenge. Our problems and challenges are to dethrone the fascist central government and submissive state government,” he said.
