Trichy: Burglars targeted two houses in the city and took away gold jewellery totalling 41 sovereigns and other articles.S EdwinThomas, 32, from RMS colony in Karumandapam in Trichy city in his complaint with the Cantonment police station on Tuesday, stated that he had locked his house and left for his mother-in-laws house at Viswas Nagar on Monday afternoon. When he returned home in the evening, he found the main door of the house broken. He also saw the bureau broken open. Edwin said that the burglars had taken away 24 sovereigns of gold ornaments, a diamond ornament, silver vessels, cash and seven watches kept in the bureau.Police booked a case on Tuesday.
