Ariyalur was one of the stations that was given a facelift due to the doubling of the track. New stations were constructed and infrastructure developed at Kallagam, Thazhanallur, Pennadam and Mathur. High-level platforms were constructed at these stations. Passenger amenities such as coach display boards have also been provided, he said.
