Commercial property near temple sealed

Vadodara: The Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) sealed a commercial space attached to a temple in the Karelibaug to recover pending property tax of Rs 25 lakh.The commercial premises attached to it was rented out to a tent house. VMC is on an drive to recover taxes as the financial year comes to an end. The tax for the premises calculated at non-residential rates was pending since two years.Sources said that those holding possession of the sealed premises had not come forward to pay the taxes even after it was sealed. Officials said that till recovery is made, the premises would stay sealed.
