VADODARA: Nandesari police arrested Dr Pratik Joshi of Angadh village, who was on run since last week after his 'sex videos' went viral on social media in, late on Friday night from his native Velanwada village in Mahisagar district. Joshi, who has been accused of rape by a woman from Angadh, too filed a complaint alleging that he was abducted and tortured to extort money using the videos.During his statement Joshi made several revelations on the basis of which the police have registered a case of extortion, wrongful confinement, kidnapping, assault and criminal conspiracy. Those booked in the case include Joshi's compounder Dilip Gohil, deputy sarpanch of Angadh village Mahendra Gohil, his three friends - Jaswantsinh alias Tiko, Vikram alias Vinod Gohil and Gopalsinh Jadeja - deputy sarpanch of Koyali Ibrahim Rana, at whose farm Joshi was kept in confinement, and their accomplice Iqbal.Police said that Joshi has denied rape charges against him. He told the cops that his relations with different women were with mutual consent and he never blackmailed any women using any videos. In fact, he never knew that his acts were being video recorded until he was abducted, he told the police.Joshi has alleged that Dilip was behind his abduction and extortion in connivance with other accused. He has alleged that Dilip resorted to the crime because Joshi was asking him to return Rs 64,000 that he had lent for his wedding.According to Joshi's complaint, Jadeja came to his clinic on February 22 asking him to tag along for a patient's treatment. On reaching at Rana's farm in Koyali village, the accused forcibly took him inside where they tortured him to extort money.
