Counting for ward 11 bypoll today

Vadodara: Counting for the byelection for the vacant seat for a woman corporator in ward 11 of the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) will take place on Tuesday. The counting will take place in seven rounds following which the results will be declared. Electronic voting machines used for the polls have been kept at a strong room in the MS University Polytechnic.Sources said that the strong room will be opened at 8am and the machines will be brought out. The election officials have made arrangements for counting on 12 tables. Voting was low even in pockets where the political parties had expected a good turnout.

The polls are a direct contest between the ruling BJP in the VMC and the Congress.The polls saw merely 24.17% of the 68,301 voters in the constituency cast their franchise. Voting was low even in pockets where the political parties had expected a good turnout. Electronic voting machines used for the polls have been kept at a strong room in the MS University Polytechnic.Sources said that the strong room will be opened at 8am and the machines will be brought out.
