The surveyor submitted a report saying that Tekrawala had suffered a loss of Rs 39,700.Tekrawala was then informed by the gas agency that the oil company has insurance policy in such cases and an amount up to Rs 20 lakh is also paid.When Tekrawala tried to inquire, he was not given details of the insurance policy following which he approached the court.The court issued notices to the gas agency and chief officer of IOCL, but when they did not file any reply, the court heard the issue one-sided. During the hearing, Tekrawala furnished medical bills and other documents which were upheld by the court.The forum then ordered the gas agency and chief officer of IOCL to award a compensation of Rs 1.8 lakh with eight per cent interest to be calculated from the day of judgement.
