Vadodara: For the first time, M S University will hold its forthcoming convocation ceremony inside the newly constructed hall at the union pavilion of MSU Students Union (MSUSU).Although the university is yet to decide on the date, the university’s syndicate members have decided to organize the convocation ceremony inside the hall to save upon the cost that the publicly-funded university incurs on organizing the ceremony at the convocation ground.“There is lot of expenditure that goes behind erecting the ‘shamiana’ and making other arrangements for the convocation ceremony at the convocation ground,” said syndicate member Jigar Inamdar.“Since the newly constructed hall at union pavilion has the capacity to accommodate all the students, teachers, parents and staffers, we believe that the ceremony can be organized inside the hall,” he said.During their meeting on Friday, the syndicate members also authorized MSU vice-chancellor professor Parimal Vyas to shortlist and recommend names of dignitaries who can be invited as chief guest.The university usually holds the convocation ceremony in October-November. At times, it also gets delayed for want of confirmation from the chief guest.
