Some of the busiest areas in the city plunged into chaos due to traffic jams. The condition in walled city was worst as rainwaters entered the shops on main roads. From Sayajigunj to Subhanpura and Alkapuri to Rhino Circle, residential colonies in many localities were submerged in knee-deep waters.Till the last reports came in, the Sayajigunj underpass that connects the east part of the city with west was also closed due to water-logging. VADODARA: A heavy bout of rains drenched the city on Thursday morning, leaving several areas water-logged.Disaster management control room officials said that the city received three inches of rains between 8 am and 10 am causing traffic jams on the main roads.The civic authorities swung into action after they started getting calls of water-logging in different areas.After heavy rains lashed the south Gujarat districts, the weather department had warned a bout of heavy showers in Vadodara too.
