Vadodara: In view of the ‘Bharat Bandh’ call given by the Congress party, many schools in city have decided to observe holiday on Monday.Managements of many schools senet out messages late on Sunday night through mobile applications, sms and WhatsApp groups among the parents to intimate them about the holiday.The schools that will observe holiday include Delhi Public School, New Era Senior Secondary School, D R Amin Memorial School, St Kabir School, Baroda High School and Nalanda International School among others.The school managements informed the parents that keeping in mind the safety and security of the students, they have decided to observe holiday.It is worth mentioning that many schools had also scheduled examinations on Monday, but they have informed the parents that a revised schedule will be sent later. Some schools, however, will hold extra classes for students of class XII keeping in mind the crucial year of board exams. While the schools will remain closed for students, teaching and non-teaching staff have been asked to remain present.On Sunday evening Congress leaders and workers moved around in the city seeking support from traders and businessmen for the Monday’s ‘bandh’ call.The Indian National Congress has declared a nationwide ‘bandh’ call to protest against hike in fuel prices, demand to bring petrol and diesel under GST, a depreciating rupee and the demand for a joint parliamentary committee probe into the alleged irregularities in the Rafale deal.
