Collection officer robbed of Rs 1L cash mobile phones

“Two persons held him and the other two took away his backpack in which he had kept the cash and his mobile phones. Police said that Vankar, who lives in Diwalipura village in Vadodara taluka, used to travel across villages in Dabhoi taluka and recover the lent money. He informed the cops that four persons who had covered their faces with handkerchief came out of the car and took away the key of his bike. The accused could be an insider or somebody who would have known information about the victim,” the police official said. Police said that Vankar, who lives in Diwalipura village in Vadodara taluka, used to travel across villages in Dabhoi taluka and recover the lent money. On Saturday evening he was on the way to his company’s office after collecting Rs 1.4 lakh by the end of the day.Vankar told the police that when he was on the Karali-Dabhoi Road in the late evening, a car without registration plate intercepted him. He informed the cops that four persons who had covered their faces with handkerchief came out of the car and took away the key of his bike. “Two persons held him and the other two took away his backpack in which he had kept the cash and his mobile phones. Complainant told us that the accused then fled away towards Waghodiya,” said a police official.Vankar then borrowed a mobile phone from a passerby to contact his colleague and later approached Dabhoi police station. “We are not ruling out anything. The accused could be an insider or somebody who would have known information about the victim,” the police official said.
