Liquor worth Rs 15L seized after dramatic chase

Police sources said that on the way, one of the bootleggers from the car even pelted liquor bottles to ward them off.The cops however, continued to chase them but the bootleggers managed to escape. Vadodara: After a Bollywood-style chase, police seized Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) worth Rs 1.5 lakh from an SUV in Tejgadh town of Chhota Udepur district on Saturday night.Cops chased the SUV car for at least 15 km during which the bootleggers even hurled liquor bottles at them.Police were keeping a watch near Zor village after getting information about an SUV carrying liquor stock. Police said that one tyre of the car even burst after it brushed with a truck on the way.

Meanwhile the SUV passed from there and did not stop despite cops warning.Police then chased the car which sped towards Tejgadh. Police sources said that on the way, one of the bootleggers from the car even pelted liquor bottles to ward them off.The cops however, continued to chase them but the bootleggers managed to escape. The SUV was later found abandoned in bushes near Siloj village.On checking, they found liquor bottles and beer cans worth Rs 1.5 lakh packed in boxes. Police have initiated a search on the basis of the registration number of the car.
