Vadodara: Vendors clash in Sama

VADODARA: At least a dozen persons were detained late night on Wednesday after two groups from different communities clashed near Swati vegetable market in Sama.Police said that those involved in the clash are vegetable vendors and the fight broke out over placing their handcarts in the market. Many vehicles parked in the area were also damaged by the rioters.Five accused identified as Anees Pathan, Roshan Pathan, Yunus Khan Pathan, Jaleel Khan Pathan and Shah Rukh Pathan abducted the complainant Kanchan Harijan. Police said that around that time, the two groups came to blows and pelted stones at each other. The mob also attacked some vehicles that were parked there. However, the cops reached in time and detained the rioters.

The accused allowed Harijan to go after threatening him to close his business in the market and also ask others from his community to wind up their business.However, police said that the accused alleged that the complainant had been sending men to their handcarts to wind up their business.Later, Harijan informed other vendors from his community about the incident and left for home late at night. Police said that around that time, the two groups came to blows and pelted stones at each other. The mob also attacked some vehicles that were parked there. However, the cops reached in time and detained the rioters.
