Vadodara: While many workers from Uttar Pradesh may have pressed panic triggers and left for their hometowns fearing attacks, there are those who have remained unfazed and stay put in their work place. Much to the relief of their employers, they work as usual in the factories that employ them.Rammilan Kevat and Shivkumar Kevat had joined the Manoj Plastics Industries in Godhra GIDC 1981 and have been working there since then. Their employer Ruchir Shah shares a strong bond with them and the work at the factory manufacturing industrial liners and packaging material depends on them heavily.Their third generation stays in Gujarat now and the duo has never faced any problems in the state so far. “They consider themselves Gujarati now. They have good relations with all staying around them and have faced no problems,” said Shah.Shah added that the production at his unit has been normal barring the weekly shutdown on Tuesday. “Even otherwise there is hardly any problem in our area. The two workers have been coming regularly ever since the controversy broke out,” she said.Godhra GIDC Estate Association president Raju Taneja said that around 80 labours from UP were working at the industrial estate. He added that there was no panic situation in the estate and most units were functioning normally.
