Happiness for poor at just Rs 10

Trustees of the NGO – Ananta Charitable Trust – said that all products will be available at meagre price of Rs 10. The proceeds of the sale will be used for sponsoring education of 95 students who left their studies due to dearth of money. VADODARA: This Diwali , people from underprivileged background in the city will be able to buy products for just Rs 10 a piece.A city-based NGO will organize ‘Khushiyo nu Kabaat (Cupboard of Happiness)’ on the lines of pop-up retail at the end of this month where beneficiaries can buy toys, sports equipment, clothes, footwear, bags, household items and stationery among other things. The items on sale will be those which have been lying unused.The NGO has placed drums at prominent cafes, restaurants, clubs and stores in the city where Barodians can donate things which they have not used for years, till October 21. A similar sale was held by the NGO in 2017, but on a smaller scale.The trustees said that the products which will be left unsold will be sold to construction workers in city and neighbouring Panchmahal at a token amount of Re 1.

The items on sale will be those which have been lying unused.The NGO has placed drums at prominent cafes, restaurants, clubs and stores in the city where Barodians can donate things which they have not used for years, till October 21. Items will be then taken to the sorting centre of the NGO where they would repaired and packed to give them a new look.The sale will be held at Akota Atithi Gruh on October 28 where 51,000 products will be available for sale. A similar sale was held by the NGO in 2017, but on a smaller scale.The trustees said that the products which will be left unsold will be sold to construction workers in city and neighbouring Panchmahal at a token amount of Re 1.
