However, as police received evidence of his involvement in the racket, he was arrested.Raju had allegedly helped his relative Shambhu Purshottam Agrawal, who lives in Karelibaug, to buy a baby boy from the gang led by Shailendra Rathore earlier this year.Police officials said that Raju was working at Rathore’s petrol pump in Alirajpur district of Madhya Pradesh. The two relatives went to meet Rathore and finalized a deal of Rs 60,000.Sources said that on Monday Raju had told police that he had only introduced Rathore to Shambhu and he had no involvement in any deal. However, cops found evidence against Raju on Tuesday and arrested him. Eight persons have been arrested by Madhya Pradesh police so far in the case.Alirajpur superintendent of police Vipul Shrivastava said that the investigation is now focused on finding more persons who had bought children from Rathore. “There could be possibilities that people from Vadodara and other places might be involved. We will be able to reveal more details once we have concrete evidence,” Shrivastava said.
