Burglars break into ACB office flee with Rs 55000 cash

The complainant said that the burglars fled with Rs 55,500 cash kept in the ACB office.According to the complaint, the ACB office was locked at 6.15 pm on Thursday. VADODARA: In an embarrassment to the police, burglars broke into the office of the anti-corruption bureau (ACB) at Chhota Udepur late on Thursday night. The police said that a provision store near the ST depot too was targeted by the burglars but they couldn’t break in. They also stole another Rs 35,000 kept in the cupboard before entering the computer room. Head constable Ambu Narottam filed a complaint of burglary against unidentified persons following which investigations has begun in the case.

The complainant said that the burglars fled with Rs 55,500 cash kept in the ACB office.According to the complaint, the ACB office was locked at 6.15 pm on Thursday. When the complainant reached the office on Friday morning, he noticed that the latch of the main door was broken following which he informed his senior officials. Lock of the police inspector’s chamber too was broken and the files kept inside were lying on the floor.The burglars had gone through the drawers and then opened the cupboard that had Rs 20,000 cash. They also stole another Rs 35,000 kept in the cupboard before entering the computer room. The complainant said that nothing else was missing but the burglars took away all the four locks. The police said that a provision store near the ST depot too was targeted by the burglars but they couldn’t break in.
