Four nabbed for usurping properties

His maternal grandfather had signed his will on April 2, 1988 to pass on all properties to Patel after his death.The properties were transferred in Patel’s name in 1996 after all legal procedures were done. However, in December 2016 Patel received a notice from a local court when the accused presented the will in the court to get a probate. Vadodara: Four persons were arrested on Saturday for allegedly usurping properties of a Vadsar resident by forging documents several years ago.The accused Mahesh Patel, Bhikha Bhaliya, Rama Bhaliya and Babu Rathod were arrested after Bhupendra Patel lodged complaint against them on Saturday.According to police, Patel had received parcels of land and several other properties from his maternal grandfather after the latter passed away in 1992. Patel had then submitted an application at Manjalpur police station to register case against all four accused for forgery.During police investigation, it was revealed that the accused had forged Patel’s maternal grandfather’s will in January 1988. Police said that Mahesh and Bhikha had forged the will, which they claimed was made in front of an executive magistrate, while the other two accused had signed as witnesses on the will.Police officials said that all four accused are land grabbers, but Bhikha is notorious as he was booked earlier this year for dumping chemical waste in Vishwamitri River and also in a gambling raid.
